Description
Peccavi is the best-kept secret of Western Australian wine and is a small boutique vineyard located in the 'sweet spot' sub-region of Yallingup ridge in the north of the Margaret River region WA.
The Peccavi vineyard occupies one of the highest elevations in Margaret River and has good moderating cool to cold, Oceanic air movements across the site. This balance of warm macro-climate and cool micro-climate is what gives the Peccavi wines their distinctive balance and poise. The vines date back to 1995 and consists of the perfect gravelly loamy soils that characterise the terroir of Margaret River. One of the key points of difference is Peccavi’s clonal selection; we use the same clones as some of the great Estates of Bordeaux. We are pioneers with the Merlot 181 clones and Robert Parker acknowledged five years ago that what Peccavi was doing with the clones from France, was the most exciting thing in WA and with the recent accolades this is proving very true.
Wines bearing the ‘Peccavi’ label are from 100% estate grown fruit, hand harvested, often in the cool of the night, from specific parcels within the blocks of vineyards making production of these wines limited by the individual vineyard sites. We select only the best grapes to handcraft our award-winning Peccavi wines, applying traditional methods that are sustainable and using the finest French oak.
